HR Manager

Washington, DC (In Office) | $90K-$120K

The Human Resources Manager plays an important role in supporting their employees and representing the company brand both internally and externally. With the support and direction of the Director of Human Resources, the HRM will contribute to the areas of recruitment, benefits administration, performance management, compensation and payroll support, employee training, and HR administration. In addition, the HRM will be able to use their creative side to contribute to a variety of special projects within the company.

A typical week will include:

  • Recruiting by representing the company to prospective employees
  • Assisting in the recruitment process: posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling draft offer letters
  • Supporting the University Recruiting and Internship programs
  • Administering benefits
  • Managing the relationship with the benefits broker
  • Facilitating annual open enrollment
  • Administering health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Directing employees to find answers to their benefits questions
  • Maintaining compliance, i.e. Medicare Notices, Safe Harbor Notice, NDT, Form 5500
  • Administering 401k plans
  • Utilizing performance management software to help facilitate 90-day check-ins and annual reviews
  • Providing support to managers throughout the review process
  • Assisting in scheduling performance review conversations
  • Ensuring proper performance documentation throughout the year
  • Ensuring payroll changes are entered and documented
  • Providing relevant payroll data to the Payroll Specialist

This may be right for you if:

  • You have a BS or MS Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a related field
  • You have an SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential (preferred)
  • You have strong attention to detail
  • You have strong customer service skills
  • You proactively identify and solve challenges
  • You are highly organized with the ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met
  • You are able to work independently and collaboratively
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You leverage leadership skills to set strategies and drive projects to completion
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
