Meet Lori Schechter Reed, Founder

Lori is a Baltimore native who learned the ropes with a well-known staffing firm in her hometown. As a proud Terp, Lori craved a return to the D.C. area where she launched her company’s office professionals practice. Those dotcom boom years were exciting as Lori and her team of Recruiters carved out a niche, placing Executive Assistants in fast-growing tech companies around Washington D.C.  In 2000, Lori married and moved to Los Angeles with her husband, stretching the Baltimore-based company into yet another region. It became clear that no matter where she worked there was always a need for an ethical, resourceful partner in the staffing space. LA was hard to leave, but Lori and her husband were expecting their first child in 2003 so they moved back to the D.C. area to be near family. This time, Lori was ready to launch her own firm and Schechter Reed was born. There is no shortage of firms in the staffing space, but Schechter Reed’s differentiator is in providing a rarely-found personal touch. Lori cares about the long-term success of her candidates and clients, even at the expense of a placement fee. She asks questions, listens, counsels and has deep relationships with trusted partners to whom she refers candidates and clients. When Lori isn’t working, she can be found playing volleyball and tennis, walking her beloved mutt “Charlie” and driving her two teenagers around town.

Meet Kelly Wycinsky, Operations Manager

Kelly is a true D.C. area local who was born in Washington, raised in Bethesda and currently resides in Northern Virginia. For college, Kelly made her way to Syracuse University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then returned to the nation’s capital in pursuit of a legal career. Within a short time, however, Kelly met with a career advisor and the recruiting profession kept popping up as a match. In 1999, Kelly gave it a shot and found her passion. By coincidence, Kelly joined the same global staffing firm where Lori got her start a few years prior. Kelly also worked on-site with one of the area’s largest government contractors in order to gain corporate recruiting experience. Through a mutual friend, Kelly and Lori were introduced in 2019 and Kelly has provided Schechter Reed with much-needed recruiting support. As a busy mom of three active boys, and a brown hound named “Penny”, Kelly has a full plate. However, we are so grateful that she finds time for Schechter Reed and are proud to have her furthering Schechter Reed’s commitment to humanize the placement process and build long-lasting relationships.

Meet Liz Kreft, Recruiter

Liz Kreft is the newest member of Schechter Reed and has proven to be a natural fit for the recruiting world. Liz’s early career was spent with two fast-paced software companies, helping clients manage their supply chains and implement best practices using the software. Liz loved traveling across the U.S. and Europe and thrived on the challenge of making every client happy and successful. In 2003, Liz left the workforce to raise her two children and approached motherhood with the same passion that fueled her first career. A York, Pennsylvania native and a Penn State graduate, Liz and her family have settled in Northern Virginia. While her two active teenagers, her Husky puppy “Evie” and her love of cooking keeps her busy, Liz was hungry to re-enter the workforce part-time. Lori and Liz met through their daughters’ volleyball team and Lori knew that Liz’s business-savvy, ability to read people and sense of humor would be a welcome addition to Schechter Reed.
