Celebrating Liz’s work anniversary and her impact to Schechter Reed

Liz Kreft recently celebrated her fourth anniversary working for Schechter Reed.  We sat with her and her colleague, Lucy, and asked them to share perspectives and impacts on colleagues.

Liz joined Schechter Reed in 2020, just before the pandemic reshaped the hiring landscape. “It was a candidate-driven market then,” she reflects. “Now, clients are more particular, and candidates prioritize work-life balance, mentorship, and culture over salary.”

Liz thrived, mastering recruitment through hands-on learning and crafting insightful interview questions to “make better matches for both sides.” Initially focused on candidates, she quickly impressed clients like Megan VanHorn at IT Consulting firm, Visionary Solutions, LLC.

Lucy Schratz, who joined Schechter Reed in 2022, praises Liz’s mentorship: “[She] graciously trained me, and remains a supportive source of advice and encouragement.” Transparency and thoughtfulness define Liz’s approach. Her previous career in software sales honed her ability to connect with diverse personalities, while her late father, a dedicated butcher, instilled a strong work ethic. Liz blends work and family life seamlessly, carving out time to connect with her kids, work out at BURN Boot Camp during lunch, walk her 4-year-old Husky and make homemade Chicken & Dumplings for dinner.
