Lori is a Baltimore native who learned the ropes with a well-known staffing firm in her hometown. As a proud Terp, Lori craved a return to the D.C. area where she launched her company’s office professionals practice. Those dotcom boom years were exciting as Lori and her team of Recruiters carved out a niche, placing Executive Assistants in fast-growing tech companies around Washington D.C.
In 2000, Lori married and moved to Los Angeles with her husband, stretching the Baltimore-based company into yet another region. It became clear that no matter where she worked there was always a need for an ethical, resourceful partner in the staffing space. LA was hard to leave, but Lori and her husband were expecting their first child in 2003 so they moved back to the D.C. area to be near family. This time, Lori was ready to launch her own firm and Schechter Reed was born.
There is no shortage of firms in the staffing space, but Schechter Reed’s differentiator is in providing a rarely-found personal touch. Lori cares about the long-term success of her candidates and clients, even at the expense of a placement fee. She asks questions, listens, counsels and has deep relationships with trusted partners to whom she refers candidates and clients.
When Lori isn’t working, she can be found playing volleyball or tennis, walking her beloved mutt “Charlie”, and traveling around and outside of the U.S.
